Dir zur Nachricht, daß Dein Lerchen[?!] gut in unsere Hände gekommen ist; leider ist Regenwetter. Am Sonntag steht Hedwig bei dem vor 7 Wochen angekommenen Sohn Karl bei Paul in Plauen Pate und da wird Gertrud gleich mit hinfahren um eine Vertretungsstelle mit zu übernehmen für einen Paten. Besten Gruß! Dein Schwager Arthur nebst Hedwig u. Trude. Hoffentlich wird sie etwas dicker nach Dresden kommen; denn hier wird nicht so poussiert!!  –

Liebe Frau Häfner und Fr. Gertrud.

Vor allem möchte ich Ihnen fragen, wie es Euch geht. Hoffentlich seid Ihr gesund was auch bei uns der Fall ist. Blos hat man jetzt große Sorgen mit dem Krieg. Unser lieber Vater hat ja bis jetzt noch nicht fortgemußt, aber ihr l. Sohn Kurt wird auch fortgemußt habe. Liebe Frau Häfner! Der Platz wo das Voksfest war ist jetzt von lauter Lazaretten gebaut und man hat den ganzen Tag zu schauen, wie die Schwerverwundeten hereingetragen werden. Lassen Sie auch bald wieder was hören. Above all I want to know how you all are. Hopefully you are well as is the case with us. We have great concerns now about  the war. Our dear father didn’t have to go yet but your dear son Kurt will have had to go. Dear Mrs. Haefner!  The place where folk festival was is now full of military hospitals and one has to see all day how the heavily wounded are carried in. Please let us hear from you soon.
