Bin seit Dienstag hier in Hirschberg, Gotthart rief mich in Schildau an, ob ich nach Hirschberg kommen wollte, sie wohnten im schwarzen Adler, b. Brückners, sie wollten eine Gesangsparthie machen sie holten mich auf Bahnhof ab und wir gingen zu Brückner nach dem Haus Ging[?] sehr schön. Den anderen Tag fuhren sie nach Dresden, um dort noch einen Tag zu verweilen und wollten Hildebert mit aufsuchen. Er ist alle Tage […] und soll auch nach Straupitz gehen, Onkel Fritz, Karl, Kurt, Heinrich, Niemand zu Haus Soll auch wieder nach Schildau, Fischbach und bei Fr, Schneit[?] einige Tage wohnen. I have been here in Hirschberg since Tuesday, Gotthard called me in Schildau if I wanted to come to Hirschberg; they are staying at the hotel “Zum Schwarzen Adler” <The Black Eagle> at the Brückner’s. They wanted to have a singing party.  They picked me up at the train station and we went to Brueckner after we went to <?> was very beautiful. The next day they went to Dresden to spend a day there and they wanted to visit Hildebert. He is going every day to <?> and is supposed to go Straupitz. Uncle Fritz, Karl, Kurt, Heinrich  there is no one at home. After going to  We might also stay at  Schildau, Fischbach and stay at Mrs. Schneit [?] A few days. Giving you all my Regards. Yours,

War heut mit Fr. Schmidt wo ich wohne bei der Talsperre so viele Menschen da. Der Bau kostet 10.000 Mark. Waren so viele Menschen da, daß wir stehen mußten. Der Bau kostet 10.000 Mark. Bin sehr lieb aufgenommen worden. Hatt auch keine strf.[?] gekostet. Fr. Rüdimer gab mir 3 Mark. Die Fr. Brückner mit Tochter waren auch da, und Fr. und Herr Rüdiger sowie Fr. ”Knoh”. Unter den herzlichsten Grüßen Deine dich liebende Mutter.

Today I went with Mrs. Schmidt (where I’m living) to the dike. There were so many people.  To build the dike costs 10.000 Marks.  There were so many people there that we had to stand.  I was received very graciously. Also didn’t cost…<?> Mrs. Ruedimer gave me 3 Marks. Mr. Brueckner was also there with her daughter and Mrs. Ruediger as well as Mrs.”Knoh”

Yvoir – la roche aux Corneilles et le tunnel

Yvior est une villègiqture idèale, et l’on peut dire que la construction de la ligne de Givet et l’industrie locale ont respecté suffisamment son site pour que l’artiste y trouve encore son compte. Les beaux rochers au bord de la Meuse sont tres remarquables. Leur structure curjeuse provient de l’érosion produite par la Meuse creusant sa vallée à traversun cacaire particuliérement compact dont la masse a pu subister apres le travail prolongé des eaux: Reprod: interd:

Yvior is an ideal getaway, and it can be said that the construction of the Givet line and the local industry have sufficiently respected its site so that the artist still finds its nautural beauty. The beautiful rocks on the banks of the Meuse are very remarkable. Their curious structure comes from the erosion produced by the Meuse river digging its valley through a particularly compact rock whose mass has endured after the prolonged erosion of the waters: Reproduction not allowed
